Alina Maria Unipan
I work at Queens Hospital Romford, London as a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist.
My areas of expertise include early pregnancy complications, pelvic ultrasound, benign gynaecological conditions, cosmetic gynaecology, menstrual disorders and postmenopausal health. I am keen to provide patients with the best possible care at every stage of their journey, ensuring a calm and reassuring experience.
During my training I completed a Research Fellowship in Early Pregnancy and Acute Gynaecology at Kings College Hospital in London which included early pregnancy and gynaecology scanning. I have published papers and abstracts in leading journals, and I presented at national and international meetings. My interest in medical education led me to complete a Postgraduate Medical Education Diploma at Bedfordshire University. I am involved in teaching; training and I am a Mentor for British Undergraduate Society of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. I am a Member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists.
Areas of interest:
- 2D and 3D ultrasound scans in early pregnancy and acute gynaecology
- Management of early pregnancy and acute gynaecology complications
- Minimal access and open surgery for benign gynaecology (laparoscopy, hysteroscopy, endometrial ablation)
- Treatment of menstrual disorders which includes treatment of fibroids in the form of myomectomy.
